WHAT IS WSET?

Wine and Spirit Education Trust (WSET)
WSET is the sole wine and spirit organization that is recognized in the UK as a national awarding body of vocational qualifications. Since it’s foundation in 1969, WSET has gained reputation as the world’s best international wine education qualification organization with a selection of globally well-received wine and spirits education programs.

A strict quality management system has been put in place to guarantee that service providers across the globe meet the high-quality standards set out by the WSET organization.

Achieving WSET certifications has been considered a great segue into the Master of Wine. There is no doubt that the WSET training is the perfect program for those who wish to have a strong first start in the journey of wine exploration.

OUR COURSES

Entry requirements
Our wine education program is open for the public and does not require any prior diploma. The course will be conducted in English.
How many wines will be tasted?
40+ wines,
including bottles from the World's Most Admired Wine Brands 2019: Torres, Villa Maria, Concha y Toro, Guigal among others.
Final exam
The examination is sat in the final session by way of a 50-question multiple choice paper to be completed within one hour.
Internationally recognized WSET® Level 2 Certificate and Lapel pin delivered upon successful exam completion.
WSET LEVEL 2 AWARD IN WINES
A beginner to intermediate level qualification exploring wines, suitable for industry professionals and wine enthusiasts.
How will you benefit?
1. Explore the major grape varieties and important wine regions in which they are grown.
2. Discover the styles of wines produced from these grapes, key classifications and labeling terminology.
3. Understand the key principles and processes involved in the storage and service of wine, and in the pairing of food and wine.
Entry requirements
Our wine education program is open for the public and does not require any prior diploma. The course will be conducted in English.
How many wines will be tasted?
08 wines
Final exam
The examination (a 30-question multiple choice paper) is sat at the end of the day, to be completed within 45 minutes. Internationally recognized WSET® Level 1 Certificate and Lapel pin delivered upon successful exam completion.
WSET LEVEL 1 AWARD IN WINES
A beginner level introduction to wine suitable for those starting a wine career or pursuing an interest in wine.
How will you benefit?
1. Get to know the world of wine, common wine grapes varieties and their characteristics.
2. Explore the main types and styles of wine through sight, smell and taste
3. Gain basic skills to describe wine accurately and make food and wine pairings.
Entry requirements
This course is open to students who have passed the Level 2 Award in Wines or have obtained the relevant knowledge and experience. The course will be conducted in English.
How many wines will be tasted?
60+ wines,
including bottles from the World’s Most Admired Wine Brands 2019: Torres, Concha y Toro, Guigal.
Final exam
The exam is assessed in two parts, which takes place in the last session of the course:
• A combined theory paper consisting of 50 multiple-choice questions and four short written answer questions.
• A tasting paper consisting of a blind tasting of two wines.
Internationally recognized WSET® Level 3 Certificate and Lapel pin delivered upon successful exam completion.
WSET LEVEL 3 AWARD IN WINES
A high-level course in wines, perfect for the serious wine enthusiast or those who need to make informed decisions or recommendations about wine for work.
How will you benefit?
1. The key factors in the production of wine: location, grape growing, winemaking, maturation and bottling
2. The key characteristics of the principal;
• still wines of the world

Entry requirements
There are no entry requirements for this qualification. You must be of legal drinking age in the country where you are attending the course to participate in any alcohol tasting. However, this is not a barrier to successfully completing the qualification. Requirements may vary by course provider.

A closed-book exam of 50 multiple-choice questions, to be completed in 60 minutes
WSET LEVEL 2 AWARD IN SAKE
If you're keen to explore the world of sake, then WSET's new Level 2 Award in Sake could be the right course for you.
How will you benefit?
1. How to describe and assess the quality of sake using the WSET Level 2 Systematic Approach to Tasting Sake ® (SAT)
2. The ingredients used to make sake: This includes the ingredients that brewers are required to use and the ones they can choose. We also cover the varieties of rice that are used to make sake. 
3. Processing the raw materials: We cover how steamed white rice and kōji (a type of fungus used for fermentation) are made and how different styles of sake require rice with different polishing ratios and different styles of kōji.
4. How sake is made: We explore all of the main techniques that are used from fermentation starter to dilution and packaging and how different choices are made when making the different styles of sake.
5. Common labelling terms, including how some of the most important ones are written in Japanese.

Final exam

1. Get to know the main ingredients of sake and the basic principles of sake production.

2. Explore the main styles and types of sake through sight, smell, taste and key factors affecting sake’s flavors and aromas.

3. Gain basic knowledge of proper sake storage and service.
WSET LEVEL 1 AWARD IN SAKE
A beginner level introduction to sake for those starting a career in the industry or pursuing an interest in sake.
How many wines will be tasted?
40 sakes
Final exam
Unit 1 is assessed by a closed-book exam of 50 multiple-choice questions and a paper of short written answers. Unit 2 is assessed by a blind tasting of two sakes.
This qualification is regulated by Ofqual.
WSET LEVEL 3 AWARD IN SAKE
An advanced level qualification for professionals working with sake or sake enthusiasts.
How will you benefit?
1. Explore the main techniques that are used in the production of sake and how they influence style and quality
2. Get to know the principal and specialty categories of sake
3. Get to know the sake industry and the commercial importance of sake in the Japanese and export markets
4. Explore the principles behind the storage, selection and service of sake
5. How to taste sake, and evaluate quality, identity and price, using the WSET Level 3 Systematic 
Entry requirements
There are no entry requirements for this qualification; however, candidates are required to complete a two-week online pre-study programme before attending the course. You must be of legal drinking age in the country where you are attending the course to participate in any alcohol tasting; however, this is not a barrier to successfully completing Unit 1. Requirements may vary by course provider.
